The Marlborough Republicans
Michele Kacy - Candidate ZBA Alternate
My name is Michele Anne Kacy and I am on the ballot for Zoning Board of Appeals Alternate. I moved to Marlborough in 2004 to marry my husband Denis. My three eldest children were off to college. Denis and I searched for the ideal small town with a great school system to provide a quality education for my ten year old daughter. Marlborough was a fabulous choice. I previously served as a member of the Marlborough Economic Development. Commission. As an EDC Alternate I worked diligently securing sponsors for the Summer Celebration in 2017. I am pleased to say that through the generosity of local sponsors and much work the event was funded.
Shortly after moving here in 2004 a family member sustained a traumatic brain injury and I started a career change. To aid their recovery I studied brain trauma, nutrition, physical therapy, music therapy and other holistic modalities. In 2012 I was hired as Director of Operations for the Oneida Holistic Health Center in Marlborough. In 2015 I took a position as a private caregiver for a very active senior who has Parkinson's. Each day working with him is a gift. Being a life long learner I am currently studying Alzheimer and Dementia Care. I may surprise myself and start nursing school in a few years.
I have over 20 years of event planning, sales, accounting and marketing experience. Prior to moving to Marlborough, I worked for many years in unionized hospitality facilities where I served as a Union Steward and Member of the Contract Negotiating Team. My work for the union taught me to look at all sides of a situation and find a resolution while adhering to the contract as written. As a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals I will use those skills.
I volunteer for Donate Life Connecticut and Divine Intervention Dog Rescue. I am a Connecticut Justice of the Peace. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my husband, our children, grandchildren and pets.
